SO dang cute! I want one! Wishful thinking. My time will come, hopefully next winter/spring. In the meantime, I really appreciate your blog posts and following these little munchkins and their antics!
I read yesterday that dogs have been man’s best friend for 32,000 years (or more), and that dogs and humans share 84% of their DNA! Dogs are actually better at observing and understanding our eye movements/communication than primates, which is pretty revealing. Unlike wolves, making eye contact with a dog is bonding to them (when they’re not scared to death)–wolves see it as threatening. When we connect via eye contact, our bodies produce oxytocin, referred to as the “love” hormone, so definitely one of the feel-good hormones we humans experience over positive interaction like smiling. So, anyone saying dogs don’t understand what we’re “saying” are misinformed. Of course, I didn’t need to read the article yesterday to know that!
NEVER “just a dog!” Thank you for these delightful snippets into your daily life with these little angels!
Glory
I agree, NEVER “just a dog”.
