Yum! Smashed kibble and goats milk make a delicious meal for the puppies. There was no learning curve….they put their little heads down and ate until it was almost all gone. Then they ate the remainder off each other’s faces. The little Green Boy (Chewy) was especially enthusiastic.

If anything new is going on, Pink girl is right there.

Purple Girl is one of the more active puppies.

Orange Girl is pretty “chill”.

Blue Boy likes to wrestle with his siblings.

Green Boy’s first picture was blurry, so we had to do a re-take.

Brown Boy is quite happy to explore. He likes to play.

Four weeks have gone by quickly.

Today the puppies will have their first meal of very smashed puppy chow.

It’s never too early to introduce the brush and comb.

In my last post, I spoke about Simone and the tremendous influence she has had.  These puppies are great grandchildren of Simone. They moved to a bigger “playpen” today so they can exercise those little legs.  They are just beginning to walk. (shown in birth order)

Pink Girl, the first-born, is not afraid to protest if she doesn’t like something.

Handsome Blue boy had a slow start, but now he is gaining weight by leaps and bounds.

Green Boy is vying with his brother, Blue, to see who can weigh more.

Pretty Purple is doing well. She’s a compact little girl.

Orange Girl was nursing when it was her turn for pictures. She wasn’t too happy with me!

Brown Boy is the largest of the puppies.

Can CH BISS Am CH Paray’s Phenomenal

“Simone”

This pretty girl is 15 years old today.  Little did we know what an impact Simone would have on our lives.   When I first saw her, I was struck by her beauty.  After all these years, I still give her the title of “Most Beautiful Bichon”.

Perhaps even more impressive is her effortless, smooth movement.  Her outstanding reach and drive make her look as if she is gliding.  Her show days have long been over, but her movement is as beautiful as ever.

Although Simone is not owned by me, and I had bred other litters before Simone came into our lives, I consider her my foundation bitch.  Our most successful show dogs have come down from her.

Her children:

Can BIS MBISS GCH Am BISS Gold GCH Absolute Affinity Agape Bullet Proof:  “Simon” (the only owner-handled Bichon to achieve Gold Grand Champion status).

Can CH Am CH Affinity Agape Absolute Bite the Bullet:  “Zeke” the charmer, entertainer and excellent stud dog.

Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren (too many to list here)  have also made their mark in conformation, performance sports and in their ability to produce outstanding examples of the breed.

We are fortunate to have such a lovely Bichon!

Military studies confirmed that there are specific time periods early in the life of a dog when neurological stimulation has optimum results.  The first period begins at the third day of life and lasts until the sixteenth day. It is believed that because this interval of time is a period of rapid neurological growth and development, it is of great importance to the individual.

The handling of each pup once per day involves the following exercises: 1. Tactical stimulation (between toes)  2.  Head held erect  3.  Head pointed down  4.  Supine position  5.  Thermal stimulation

Pink Girl demonstrates the Head Held Erect position.

Orange Girl reluctantly demonstrates the Supine position.

That’s a lot of nails to cut…especially on squirmy puppies! Brown Boy is modeling.

Flo-Jo’s puppies are two weeks old today.

Their eyes are starting to open.  They still cannot hear.  They scoot around a lot, but haven’t yet gotten up on their legs.  There are lots of changes between weeks two and three.  Stay tuned!

The smallest puppies are the Blue Boy and Green Boy (Chewy). Chewy seems a bit slower to mature than his siblings. His nose is not as black and his eyes are just beginning to open.

The Pink Girl and Purple Girl are the medium-size puppies in the litter.

Orange Girl and Brown Boy are the largst puppies. Brown is waving, just like he did in his one week picture.
