No matter how you want to say it, the puppies were not at all interested in being photographed today! They are 11 weeks old and think they have better things to do than sit still for a picture.
The puppies had lots and lots of visitors. That makes them happy. Everybody has their favorite puppy. They are such a nice litter that in my case that means, “I like this one. Well, now I like this one best. Maybe this puppy would be the best for the conformation ring.” I have found it very difficult to pick my favorite! My friend, Joanne, will be getting a show girl from this group. She was having trouble deciding also. Instead of going home with one puppy, she took two. Once she lives with them for a little while she will determine which girl she wants to keep and one will be returned to me. And the little girls will have each other during their transition to a new home.
Ah….I’m enjoying what seems like a rare peaceful moment! The puppies had a romp in the kitchen and are recharging for their next big adventure.
Buzz is off on a new adventure with his new family–Jodi and Forest and Brooklyn!! Buzz and Brooklyn will have many wonderful adventures together and lots of fun playing, wrestling and getting into mischief. Forest will have a excellent nap buddy–something Buzz loves to do after lunch. Jodi will have a good cuddle buddy. We’ll miss Buzz, but he has a fantastic home with Jodi and Forest.
We’ve been practicing every day. Maybe now that they are 9 weeks old we’ll see some real progress.
On Tuesday morning Mary and Mochi flew away to Hawaii. Mochi had fulfilled all the Hawaii quarantine requirements and was cleared to go to Hawaii under the airport release program. So aloha Mochi. We miss you, but you have a wonderful home. We’ll look forward to seeing you when you come to the mainland to visit.Upon arriving home, Mochi immediately jumped into her new bed along with her ball. Mary says that Mochi spends lots of time in her bed with her toys looking out the front door watching for people and all the activity in front of the house.

The puppies are thriving. Once in a while Flo-Jo will let them nurse, but it won’t be long before she calls it quits. She’s done her duty and taken good care of her babies.
As I wrote in the last post, all the puppies are very healthy. There were no ill effects from their first vaccinations. They are spending more and more time running around my puppy-proofed home. They love to be around the “big” dogs. They had visitors on their birthday. They welcome and enjoy everyone they meet. Next week we will start leash training.
