The pups went to the vet yesterday for their first puppy shots and their physical exam. It is quite extensive, checking general appearance, eyes, ears, teeth and occlusion, heart, lungs, abdomen, musculoskeletal, skin, lymph nodes, urogenital, nervous system, patella exam. All the puppies are normal in all areas. My vet said they are a healthy bunch. I asked how they did and he said it was typical. “The boys were pansies. The girls were tough.”

Our Green boy has made great strides. He started off being timid. Now he is the first one to greet a visitor and the first one to come over and check out the big noise from the vacuum
Gray has been consistently the largest. He was funny today. He got in the bed by himself…then he was joined by his brothers. He scooted away, but he apparently wasn’t far enough. He kept scooting, in his sleep, until he was completely out and sleeping by himself.
I admire a good pet photographer. This is probably the 20th attempt to take a good picture of Blue boy. I am still not satisfied, but gave up. Blue is quite affectionate. He wants to be picked up and he gives kisses.
Pink Girl is the first to explore and she’s becoming a pretty good escape artist, too.
Orange girl has been one of my favorites from birth. We’ve tried out about 10 different names for her, and still haven’t made a decision.

  1. So happy to hear that the vet thought that they were all in wonderful shape, must have a good mama and surrogate mom! I love hearing about their funny incidents and how they are developing their own cute personalities! Keep those adorable photos coming, we are drooling over them!! Cheers, Jo Anne

    • The stories about each one are so fun and showing their individual personalities. They just keep getting cuter by the week. Very happy they are so healthy. Thanks for doing these posts Sue. I really enjoy them. PS our first Bichon was named Chloe. Just loved her and a great name for a Bichon. 🥰

  2. I spent some time today going back to read about the puppies and to look at their photos from week 1 through week 8. It’s so fascinating to be able to follow their progress from the time they were tiny newborns. Each one is starting to have their own personality and each one is so appealing in their own way. It must be so gratifying being able to nurture each one of these special little ones!! I am so glad that they all are healthy and thriving and got a good report from the vet! Yeah!!
