Photos are compliments of Jennifer and family.  They visited (and helped bathe puppies) when the pups were 10 weeks old.  Blue Boy will be living with Jennifer.  His new name is Brinkley.

They were happy to greet everyone.

He’s never one to pass up the opportunity to chew!

Is this a darling face, or what??

Brown Boy is a keeper!

A kiss for luck or a kiss good-night?

No matter how you want to say it, the puppies were not at all interested in being photographed today!  They are 11 weeks old and think they have better things to do than sit still for a picture.

Blue Boy, the little Cutie, loves his people. He’s the first to want to be picked up for a cuddle.

Green Boy, has a name and a new home. Chewy will be moving to his new home right after the new year.

Brown Boy is looking for a name. Any suggestions? He never likes to look at the I Pad for his pic. We had to make some very creative noises to gain his attention today.

Somebody needs a haircut! This is Stella, formerly known as Purple Girl. She can hold her own with her brothers.

The puppies had lots and lots of visitors.  That makes them happy.  Everybody has their favorite puppy.   They are such a nice litter that in my case that means, “I like this one.  Well, now I like this one best.  Maybe this puppy would be the best for the conformation ring.”  I have found it very difficult to pick my favorite! My friend, Joanne, will be getting a show girl from this group.  She was having trouble deciding also.  Instead of going home with one puppy, she took two.  Once she lives with them for a little while she will determine which girl she wants to keep and one will be returned to me.  And the little girls will have each other during their transition to a new home.

Purple Girl will be staying with me.

Blue Boy was in his element with so many visitors. He loves the attention.

Green Boy, named Chewy, is my daughter’s favorite.

Brown Boy was really “strutting his stuff” today. Maybe he likes to show off.

Ah….I’m enjoying what seems like a rare peaceful moment! The puppies had a romp in the kitchen and are recharging for their next big adventure.

Pink Girl wasn’t sure she wanted to nap. She’s half-asleep in this picture but she gave in and climbed into bed with her siblings.

We’ve been practicing every day.  Maybe now that they are 9 weeks old we’ll see some real progress.

Pink Girl has a mind of her own! Don’t hold her head or you will hear about it from her. (I make a practice of holding her head). She isn’t afraid of anything.

Sometimes Purple is sedate, sometimes she is wild and crazy. Yesterday she chose wild and crazy during her training.

Orange Girl is showing real promise as she gets older. I see nice movement and attitude.

Blue Boy is a people dog. He is one of the first to greet you and ask to be picked up. Sometimes he asks too loudly!

Green Boy is not quite as confident as his siblings. He loves to rumble but seems more reticent in new situations.

What can I say about Brown Boy? He has always been the largest, being the pup to pass the 4 lb. mark this week. He’s handsome. He’s sometimes good….sometimes not as good! I guess they all fit that description.

The puppies are thriving.  Once in a while Flo-Jo will let them nurse, but it won’t be long before she calls it quits.  She’s done her duty and taken good care of her babies.

As I wrote in the last post, all the puppies are very healthy.  There were no ill effects from their first vaccinations.  They are spending more and more time running around my puppy-proofed home.  They love to be around the “big” dogs.  They had visitors on their birthday.  They welcome and enjoy everyone they meet.  Next week we will start leash training.

At approximately eight weeks old, puppies get a physical exam and their first puppy shots.

The areas of examination include general appearance, eyes, ears, teeth and occlusion, cardiovascular, respiratory, abdomen, musculoskeletal, skin, lymph nodes, urogenital, nervous system, patella exam.  They passed with flying colors.

The boys are very tired from their outing today.

The girls were quite brave when they got their shot. I didn’t hear a peep. They had a nice nap on the way home and didn’t really want to be awake for a picture.

The pups meet new “challenges” with gusto.  They love to roam around the kitchen and laundry room.  They are happy to sleep in their exercise area and still spend a lot of time playing in there, but then they let me know they want OUT.  They were gifted a new bed today.  They tipped it over, chewed on it, climbed on it and eventually even slept in it.  It’s a hit.

This bed is comfortable!

Pink Girl can run like the wind. She likes to play and she still has a particular affinity for 7 month old Wilson.

Sweet is a good word to describe Purple Girl. She has a sweet face and a sweet personality.

Orange Girl is always ready to take on something new.  She is also very playful.

Blue Boy is interactive. He wants to spend time with his human family. He particularly likes my son.

Green Boy will often asked to be picked up. He is usually happy to cuddle.

“Are you looking for a good time? I’m your man!”
Sometimes Brown Boy thinks the best times involve jumping on his sibs and wrestling them to the ground.

Yesterday was bath and nail day.  Today is the day to trim some of that wild puppy hair.

This is Blue Boy’s chance to model his new “do”. His hair is about an inch shorter after his trim.
