Way to much fun playing and running with her littermates–Lily crashes and enjoys snoozing in Steven’s lap–what a life–all is good!!! Thanks for coming to visit Lily–hope you’ll come back many more times.
On Saturday afternoon Lily (aka Pink Girl) came to visit her mom (Rosie), dad (Zeke), and littermates Sydney and Benny. Beautiful afternoon playing and running in the backyard–and getting to know the new litter of pups kept all the “big” dogs and people busy! After Lily left, the picture at the right shows how tiring entertaining can be–I’m not sure Lily was even out of the driveway before the little pups were asleep and the “big dogs” were thinking about taking a nap. A very enjoyable afternoon!
Pebbles has a new home with Donna and Jim. Pebbles is pictured with them when they met for the first time–it appears “love at first sight” for all!! Thank you Donna and Jim for opening your hearts and home to her–at 10 years of age it is often difficult to find a home for a dog of that age. My wish is for many happy, fun filled years together–enjoy the walks and playing ball Pebbles and give lots of love.
This has been a busy week for the puppies. On Wednesday afternoon they got to go outside into the grass dog yard for the first time–along with 16 of their closest Bichon and 1 Tibetan Spaniel friends–they had a wonderful time. Since then they have been back outside to play–loving every minute. Teeth are coming in–those little daggers (canine teeth) are already in and all the pups want to chew on anything that is available (there go my shoe laces again!). Pups are shown in birth order: Blue girl, Clear male, Green girl, Purple male, Red male. All the puppies are much cuter when you seen them in person–and more awake!!! Just click on the individual pictures to get a larger picture of each pup.
On this beautiful afternoon in August there was a Bichon party in the dog yard at Karen’s house. There were 22 dogs in attendance–21 Bichon and 1 Tibetan Spaniel (who thinks he is a Bichon). The little Bichon puppies had a wonderful time and a great first experience outside and in the grass for Rosie’s puppies. Piper’s puppies enjoyed the grass too–lots of running, wrestling, and playing with all the other dogs. The humans at the party had a good time too. To make the pictures larger, just put your cursor on the picture and double click–wait a few seconds and the picture will appear larger–so you can see all the dogs!
This week the pups really found their legs and are on the move!! Sometimes their legs don’t take them in the direction they think they want to go, but it doesn’t matter because after a second they can’t remember where they wanted to go anyway–their attention span is very, very short. Wrestling with each other and taking more notice of toys is a great way for them to spend their awake time. New experiences–they have met Piper’s litter twice now, have traveled in the car, tested out new surfaces to walk on, and met new people–and all the pups did very well.
Piper and Simon’s puppies are 6 weeks old today. During the last week they have learned the joys of going outside. Red girl and Purple girl seem to find things to chew on, no matter how often I clean the area. Green boy even found a bug! Yellow girl and Clear boy are learning to climb up the steps. Up is always more effective than down. I put a pad at the bottom of the steps for those inevitable tumbles. This week there will be lots of visitors. The puppies enjoy meeting new people.
End of week 3 the Rosie/Jackson puppies have gone through some big changes–their eyes are now fully open and they can see. Ears have developed and they can hear. They are walking (not always in the direction they want to go) and they are starting to play with toys and each other. They grow up way to fast–but it is a fun age. More changes to come in future weeks. Left to right: Blue girl, Clear male, Green girl, Purple male, and Red male.
It has been a busy second week for the puppies–lots of growing. Their eyes are beginning to open, their ears are developing, and they are getting around much better–getting up on their feet and wobbling around. From here on out the changes come rapidly. In birth order from left to right: blue girl, clear male, green girl, purple male, red male.
