Winner and New Champion!

Baron, Absolutely Agape Heartthrob can add the title “Champion” to his name.  He finished his championship in style.  Our team went to the Bichon Frise National Specialty May 7 & 8.  There were over 100 dogs in attendance.  Baron was awarded Best of Winners and Best Bred-By-Exhibitor.

It’s thrilling to see our boy doing so well.  We’re still “flying high” and probably will be for some time.

We are conscientious about health testing for our dogs.  Today four dogs went to the dog ophthalmologist here in Bellingham.

I’m happy to report that Zeke, Poppy, Baron and Flo-Jo are clear!

I’m so proud of these siblings, Baron and Flo-Jo.

They were the only Bichons to get points either day of the show.

  •    Baron usually shows well and he is all business.  On Saturday  he was Winner’s Dog.  On Sunday he was Winner’s Dog, Best of Winners.
  •     Flo-Jo was a bit of a surprise.  At her last class she was less than stellar.  Who was that little angel we saw in the ring on Saturday?  She was Winners, Best Opposite and Best of Winners.  Today, Sunday, she was once again Winners and Best Opposite.

Our young man, Absolutely Agape Heartthrob,

aka Baron

had a fantastic weekend.

A dog needs 2 major wins and 15 points to be awarded his U.S. Championship.

After one weekend of shows, he is well on his way with both his major wins and eight points.

Baron is making himself right at home.  He’s staying with my daughter this week.

Sheri, Karen and I (along with Simon) are heading to Orlando to

attend the Eukanuba dog show.

Baron is making himself right at home, but his sister, Flo-Jo is looking a bit put out.

Baron, Absolutely Agape Heartthrob

was Best of Winners in the three shows he attended in Cloverdale, B.C.

He’s a young man who is getting better each time he is in the ring.

PuyallupBISS2014We always enjoy our local specialty show.  It’s a chance to meet with our friends and enjoy our dogs together.  After the show and raffle drawing, there’s a time of good fellowship and food.

This year in the puppy sweepstakes, Baron was awarded Best of Opposite Sex.  All the puppies got a nice toy, some beautiful rosettes and the winners received an original Bichon sculpture, created by Robyn Orvos.

Following the sweepstakes is our specialty show, where Bichons of all ages compete.  We were honored this year to be recognized among some very lovely Bichons Frise.

Simon was awarded Best of Breed

Benny was Best of Winners, for a major win

Baron was Best Puppy in Breed

We had pictures taken of these three boys, so check back.  We’ll post them when we receive them.

I always feel better after a haircut, too!  I wish I had taken a “before” picture. The siblings looked pretty scruffy.  Here they are looking like little show dogs.
