At our local Bichon specialty show, we added the bred by exhibitor special attraction category.  Only the person(s) who bred and own the dog can take the dog in the ring.

Junebug, affectionately known by many as “BUG” was at a disadvantage since I was the person responsible for showing her.   She made me proud!

Junebug, bred and owned by Sue, Karen and Sheri.

Junebug competed in Fast Cat competition in Lynden, WA.  Fast Cat is basically a 100 yard dash for dogs.  The show must go on, rain or shine.  Today it was RAIN!

Junebug and her BFF Doug. Doug didn’t want her to get cold.

All the news I hear on the puppies is very positive.  They are adjusting nicely to their new homes.  Here are some pictures of the pups that are staying close to home.  They are just over 15 weeks and are learning some basic training commands.

Vera is as feisty as ever. She is the best climber of the bunch.

Vito is learning to stand like a show dog. Thank you, Dina for your training!

Who needs a haircut? That would be Kevin! He was very good with the dryer, but he doesn’t like me to touch his head.

She worked hard and achieved her American Championship. Junebug is a fun and funny little girl.  Thanks, Tasheena, for loving her, showing her and taking such good care of her.

Orange Boy is now known as Sunny.  Bonnie says he will bring sunshine into their lives.  Daughter, Kim, lives nearby and she will gladly puppy sit anytime that is needed.  Family and friends have purchased collars and toys for the new addition.  I think it will be a “family affair.”

Sunny fell asleep on Kim’s lap after playing and getting a nice massage. When it was time to rise and shine for his going away picture, he could hardly keep his eyes open!

Blue boy has a new name: Benny. I hear he will be well and truly loved (and spoiled)

And Then There Were Four

Three puppies went to their forever homes this weekend.  Their siblings miss them.  However, the noise level has gone down, as has the clean-up.  I know they will be treasured by their new owners.  And everyone has promised to stay in touch.

Fritz (formerly green boy) will live on Vancouver Island. His new family is so excited to have him.

Bentley Brown will be living with his half-brother. They are already having fun together.

Eleven weeks ago when the puppies were born, they were tiny, could not see, could not hear, had very little hair, sometimes had to be helped up to Momma so they could nurse.  They could scoot, but not far.  I am amazed with every litter when I think how far they progress and how quickly they mature.

Blue boy is going to his forever home this Saturday. His new name is Benny.

Orange boy is very social. He’s a real people puppy. He had a big weight gain this week….he gained a pound.

Brown boy, now named Bentley Brown, gets to live with his half-brother, Bridger..and of course with Bridger’s  wonderful family.

Green had a bath and had the hair trimmed around his eyes. Look at how handsome he is!

I was singing  to Vera when she cocked her head. I don’t think she liked my singing!

Black, Vito, also had a bath. He is destined for the show world.

#7, now called Kevin, was really good in the bath and with the dryer. He will live with my daughter.

Saturday was the puppy party. The puppies invited all their good friends.

They tolerated their baths, drying with a big hair dryer, clipping, scissoring and then the FUN began.  They had lots of playing with each other and with their friends.  The best part of the day for them was playtime in the big back yard.  They followed the adult dogs from one corner of the lawn to the other.

This is just the best picture! It’s amazing that all 7 are lined up and looking at the camera. Thanks to the puppy friends for making this happen.

It’s unusual for the puppies to sit still individually, let alone as a group. This was taken this morning, after they had their play time and were thinking about a nap.
On the floor is Pink girl on the left. (she is small, but not as small as this picture makes her appear), and Brown boy on the right. On the step, from left to right is Lucky #7, Blue boy and Black boy.

There was too much happening today to get individual pictures.

Gloria continues to be a great Mom.  She loves to play with her babies, especially first thing in the morning.  They all have something to eat, play outside for a while and then come in and chase each other.

Green (left) and Orange boys didn’t make it into the group photo. They are 9 weeks old, and rambunctious.

I know Blue was in the group picture, but I thought he looked so cute here, all rumpled from his nap.
