At our local Bichon specialty show, we added the bred by exhibitor special attraction category. Only the person(s) who bred and own the dog can take the dog in the ring.
Junebug, affectionately known by many as “BUG” was at a disadvantage since I was the person responsible for showing her. She made me proud!
Junebug competed in Fast Cat competition in Lynden, WA. Fast Cat is basically a 100 yard dash for dogs. The show must go on, rain or shine. Today it was RAIN!
All the news I hear on the puppies is very positive. They are adjusting nicely to their new homes. Here are some pictures of the pups that are staying close to home. They are just over 15 weeks and are learning some basic training commands.
She worked hard and achieved her American Championship. Junebug is a fun and funny little girl. Thanks, Tasheena, for loving her, showing her and taking such good care of her.
Orange Boy is now known as Sunny. Bonnie says he will bring sunshine into their lives. Daughter, Kim, lives nearby and she will gladly puppy sit anytime that is needed. Family and friends have purchased collars and toys for the new addition. I think it will be a “family affair.”
And Then There Were Four …
Three puppies went to their forever homes this weekend. Their siblings miss them. However, the noise level has gone down, as has the clean-up. I know they will be treasured by their new owners. And everyone has promised to stay in touch.
Eleven weeks ago when the puppies were born, they were tiny, could not see, could not hear, had very little hair, sometimes had to be helped up to Momma so they could nurse. They could scoot, but not far. I am amazed with every litter when I think how far they progress and how quickly they mature.
Saturday was the puppy party. The puppies invited all their good friends.
They tolerated their baths, drying with a big hair dryer, clipping, scissoring and then the FUN began. They had lots of playing with each other and with their friends. The best part of the day for them was playtime in the big back yard. They followed the adult dogs from one corner of the lawn to the other.
There was too much happening today to get individual pictures.
Gloria continues to be a great Mom. She loves to play with her babies, especially first thing in the morning. They all have something to eat, play outside for a while and then come in and chase each other.
