On Saturday, February 27, two of the little girls went to their new homes and started a new adventure.

Green girl went home with Doug and Tasheena to start her new adventure. She will be living with another young Bichon, Pixie (from Sue’s litter), Kevlar (an adult Bichon–5 years old), and Jake (a much bigger dog, very gentle older guy).
Blue girl went home with Jan and Mark and her older brother, Elijah (Bichon about 20 months old).

From the reports after the first night in their new homes everyone survived and actually got some sleep. Today more new adventures and exploring their new surroundings. Red girl is still here and will go to her new home on Wednesday–some adventures planned for her today too. Red girl is missing her littermates, but she is being very good.

I love the expression on Blue’s face – it tells the story.

Burrito, the Abominable Snow Dog, loves the snow and likes to plow through the white stuff with his nose. Unfortunately the Bichon Frise breed does not shed the snow from their coats, instead snowballs form and when the fun playing in the snow is over it’s time to get dried off. The snow is pretty and fun, but it is time for it to be gone!

Sometimes I’ll place a retired show dog in a new home. It has to be just the right home where he’ll get lots of love and attention.

Chandler’s last day with me.
Chandler and Ilene. She’s been working hard to make Chandler’s transition as easy as possible. He’ll enjoy being an only dog.

More up to date picture of the 3 little “girls” taken on Friday, February 5, 2021. Red girl top left, Green girl next to her, and Blue girl closest to the bottom of the picture–all sweet, crazy puppies. On Sunday the pups got their first trip outside on a show lead and did so well–nothing bothered them, they just went outside and walked on the leash (loved the string cheese treat). They also got to walk in the grass–another new surface for them.

These pictures of the pups were taken about 2 weeks ago–sometimes it is just difficult to find the time to post pictures and sometimes I just procrastinate.

Red girl on her spa day, bath, haircut, nails–looking like a little Bichon. Red girl was the smallest when born, she has now caught up with her littermates and is actually the heaviest at 2.96 pounds–she loves her food.
Green girl looking very cute in her “big girl” haircut. Green weighs 2.7 pounds and weighs the least of the 3 pups.
Blue girl is the “energizer bunny” of the 3 girls, always looking for something to do and trouble to get into. Blue weighs in at 2.76 pounds. All the weights on the pups were taken at the vet’s office this last week when they went for their first puppy shots and check-up. Each pups was declared “healthy puppy” by the vet.

Piper is 10 years old. Every show dog I have bred for the last 10 years has Piper in their pedigree. She was (and is) an excellent mother and produced some fabulous Bichons. She is retired and living the high life on the beach. And she is happy to have her last daughter, Tessa (aka Regan aka Tiny Dancer) living with her.

Piper and Tessa. Aren’t they beautiful?!
The girls are always together. I love this picture of them eating in their matching sweaters.

Blue had his first professional groom. He looks so handsome and grown up! I was inspired to spiff up Bridget (orange girl) and Tasheena groomed Pixie (formerly known as Pink)

Blue, about 15 weeks old.
Pixie got a new “do.”
Bridget – 15.5 weeks old.
