On Tuesday morning Mary and Mochi flew away to Hawaii. Mochi had fulfilled all the Hawaii quarantine requirements and was cleared to go to Hawaii under the airport release program. So aloha Mochi. We miss you, but you have a wonderful home. We’ll look forward to seeing you when you come to the mainland to visit.Upon arriving home, Mochi immediately jumped into her new bed along with her ball. Mary says that Mochi spends lots of time in her bed with her toys looking out the front door watching for people and all the activity in front of the house.

The puppies are thriving. Once in a while Flo-Jo will let them nurse, but it won’t be long before she calls it quits. She’s done her duty and taken good care of her babies.
As I wrote in the last post, all the puppies are very healthy. There were no ill effects from their first vaccinations. They are spending more and more time running around my puppy-proofed home. They love to be around the “big” dogs. They had visitors on their birthday. They welcome and enjoy everyone they meet. Next week we will start leash training.
At approximately eight weeks old, puppies get a physical exam and their first puppy shots.
The areas of examination include general appearance, eyes, ears, teeth and occlusion, cardiovascular, respiratory, abdomen, musculoskeletal, skin, lymph nodes, urogenital, nervous system, patella exam. They passed with flying colors.
The pups meet new “challenges” with gusto. They love to roam around the kitchen and laundry room. They are happy to sleep in their exercise area and still spend a lot of time playing in there, but then they let me know they want OUT. They were gifted a new bed today. They tipped it over, chewed on it, climbed on it and eventually even slept in it. It’s a hit.
Yesterday was bath and nail day. Today is the day to trim some of that wild puppy hair.
It’s been a busy day for the puppies. Today was bath and nail day.
Today the “BIG” dryer was used. That takes some getting used to.
SIX WEEKS OLD!
Time flies when you are having fun and when you are busy. Six puppies, six weeks old = busy!
New challenges this week: getting used to wearing a collar and taking a car ride.
Brown Boy has the most hair. That earned him the dubious privilege of being the first to get a bath.
