Piper and Simon’s puppies are 4 weeks old today. I’m seeing lots of play, lots of growling, beginning interest in toys. Their teeth are erupting. They have begun to eat puppy food (in gruel form). They get around much quicker than they have, but at times they are directionally challenged…the feet don’t always take them where they think they want to go. Instead of “Let the Fun Begin”, perhaps I should have said, “Let the TROUBLE begin!”
The puppies are 1 week and 2 days old — from left to right: Blue girl, Clear boy, Green girl, Purple boy and bottom center is Red boy. Their eyes are just starting to open. In the next few days there should be some big changes. Puppies just grow up to fast–they certainly are fun!!! Looking forward to seeing what little personalities they each have.
On Thursday, July 18, 2013 Rosie’s litter was born–3 males and 2 females. All the puppies are doing well and gaining weight daily. Rosie continues to be an excellent mother and really dislikes being away from her puppies–even for a very short time. One week pictures of the pups will be taken on Thursday–and hopefully posted to the blog shortly thereafter.
Another birth announcement–Rosie (Kenningway Affinity Wild Rose) and Jackson(Encore’s Nordic Connection) announce the birth of their litter–3 males and 2 females. All healthy, good weights, and nursing. Rosie is being a very good mother. Pictures to follow after Sue and I get some rest. This litter took much longer in arriving than Rosie’s first litter and it has been a long time since I’ve been up all night!
Piper’s puppies are two weeks old today Notice that their eyes are opening and their pigment is starting to fill in. I couldn’t ask for a better Mama dog. I say Piper has excellent parenting skills!
Pictured above in birth order are Red Girl, weighing 1 lb. .5 oz., Purple Girl, weighing 1 lb. .5 oz. and my current favorite: Yellow Girl, bringing up the rear at 15.3oz.
