Even though Rosie has several more weeks to go, on Thursday Dena gave Rosie her “getting ready for puppies” trim. She looks very cute in her very short trim and is more comfortable–much cooler on the tummy! We are looking forward to the puppies arrival.
Benny and Sydney attended the Bichon Frise Club of America National Specialty and Sweepstakes in May. Benny placed in his class (4th place rosette) and Sydney placed in her class with a second place rosette (only 4 places are awarded). The 2 pups showed very well and had a great time. The judge was Patricia Dale Hunter from Vancouver Island, BC.
Then June 7 Benny and Sydney were entered in the Bichon Frise Club of Puget Sound Sweepstakes and Specialty in Tacoma. Benny placed 2nd in both the sweeps and the specialty. Sydney place 1st in her class and was also award Best Opposite Sex Puppy in the Specialty. Again, both pups had a wonderful time–meeting lots of people, children, and other beautiful Bichons.
Rosie (AM/CA CH Kenningway Affinity Wild Rose) was bred to Jackson (CA/AM CH Encore’s Nordic Connection) in May. Today (June 15, 2013) Rosie had an ultrasound which showed 5 puppies. So, come July, Rosie and Piper will have puppies probably within a week of one another–should be LOTS of fun. We are looking forward to the pups arrival.
Simon received the Select Dog award at the Bichon Frise Club of Puget Sound on June 7th. Won Best of Breed and a Group 2 the following day. Select Dog again on the final day of competition. We had a beautiful turn out for the Specialty and a very nice line up in the final ring. Only 1 ultimate winner, but we all looked good trying! Thank you to Judges Wanda Spediacci and Carolyn Herbel.
In May, Karen, Sue and I traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana for The Bichon Frise Club of America’s National Specialty. This is an event we look forward to each year. All the top bichons in the country gather to compete. It is an especially important event for us in the Northwest since its the only opportunity for anyone other than our neighbors to see our fine dogs. At no time in the year will we face stiffer competition than at nationals. Going in we just hoped for our dogs to finish high in the ribbons in their respective classes and for them to get some attention. I’d say…mission accomplished.
Benny and Sydney were entered in Puppy Sweepstakes. Simon was entered in Bred By Exhibitor – Special Attraction and Best of Breed. Benny finished 3rd in his Sweep class and Sydney finished 2nd in hers. Both puppies showed extremely well and we are excited about their promising future in the ring Simon finished 1st in his Champion Dog Bred by Exhibitor class…then went back in to win Best Bred by Exhibitor. Wow!! Thank you judge Dale Hunter from Victoria, BC.

are proud to announce they will soon be parents.
Piper’s recent ultrasound showed 5 puppies. They will arrive around July 6. It’s been almost 4 years since there have been puppies at my house. I’m very much looking forward to their arrival! Here’s hoping for a healthy, happy, beautiful batch of Bichons!!
